Leslie Loh – Managing Director

Leslie is an entrepreneur, angel investor and educator.  He passionately contributes his time generating tech talents, nurturing entrepreneurs, and growing technology startups, intent on developing ASEAN’s tech community.

At the age of 23, he founded System Access Pte Ltd. What started as a one-man outfit grew to a publicly listed global banking software organization with 10 offices and 500 staff across Europe, Middle East and Asia.  Sunguard, a leading US-based global financial services software provider, acquired System Access in 2006.

Leslie sat on the Singapore Board of IDA (Infocomm Development Authority) and SPRING (SME Development Authority) from 1999 to 2003 and 2011 to 2013, respectively. He currently belongs to several national development committees involved in charting the economic strategies, manpower development, and entrepreneurship development of Singapore.

Charlie Ill – Investment Manager

Charlie tracks high-tech industry trends, identifies attractive business models, guides founders in scaling quickly, and ensures on-target results. He holds an MBA, having studied at three business schools–INCAE (Latin America), AGSM (Australia), and NUS (Singapore). His background comes from the United States aerospace, military, and defense industry as an operations manager where he assumed a multitude of different roles. He is in charge of sourcing investment opportunities in Singapore, monitoring Red Dot’s day-to-day operations, advising Red Dot’s portfolio companies, and engaging follow-on investment opportunities.

Daryl Chew – Management Associate

Daryl graduated from NUS Business School with a BBA, minoring in Technopreneurship. While still a student, he started a cosmetics distribution and retail business working with companies from New York, Los Angeles, and Singapore. His role is to help source investment opportunities, manage Red Dot’s value added services, and ensure successful implementation of entrepreneurship education programmes in Singapore.

Expara is a training and advisory company founded by Douglas Abrams in 2003. Expara develops and teaches entrepreneurship and innovation experiential-exercise-based learning programs for individuals, companies and public institutions in Asia.   To date, Expara has trained more than 2,000 fledgling and current entrepreneurs from 20 countries.

Expara is working closely with Red Dot Ventures & Lithan Education in delivering incubation support and training services to our Start-ups.

Expara IDM Ventures (EIDMV)

Expara IDM Ventures (EIDMV) is a virtual business accelerator that invests in promising IDM companies in Singapore, and was one of the first private companies approved as a mentor in the i.JAM Microfunding Scheme, an initiative of the IDM R&D Programme Office (IDMPO). EIDMV has focused on incubating companies in the IDM space.

EIDMV serves as a source of deal flow for Red Dot Ventures. Since its inception in 2007, EIDMV has seed-funded 17 IDM companies, out of which 7 companies have secured S$5.24 million in total follow-on investments. EIDMV has also received approval-in-principle to participate in the i.JAM Reloaded Program that will follow i.JAM.

Extream Ventures

Established in Singapore in 2008 to target early stage high tech companies in ICT, interactive and digital media (IDM) & disruptive technology. Extream Ventures is backed by the National Research Association (NRF) under the Early Stage Venture Funding Scheme.  Extream Ventures invests in and accelerates potentially scalable startup businesses, focusing on those with intellectual property and technologies, potentially large markets, strong management teams, a well-developed business model and sustainable competitive advantage.
